WELCOME

Emergent Creators was founded by artist, empath, healer, survivor, sacred activist, advocate and visionary, Elizabeth Izzo.

As a survivor and healer, Elizabeth's practice draws on lived experiences, plus intuitive processes which re/connect her to a sense of integrated AUTHENTICITY, BELONGING and EMPOWERMENT.

Her integration process includes experiencing herself as whole, worthy and well.

As such, this is a core objective when she works with clients as an Integrative Arts and Healing Arts Practitioner and Soul Coach Facilitator.

ABOUT

Her over 35 years of experience, advocating and working in activism, and the healing and creative arts informed and led her to this work as both a practitioner, and founder.

Entering into years of environmental work following a major life-threatening trauma, gave rise to an unfolding passion for her to speak to our collective wounding - which we each carry a piece of, and to foster a recovery through integration processes of those wounds and individual ones.

She recognizes the intrinsic value of participation with, and creation of integration tools as its own rehabilitative model. While each moment represents an opportunity to choose anew, she also knows that choice is not the only fuel driving this work forwards.

"I believes that a path in the arts and the healing arts chooses us. How we then choose to respond is our co-creative and free-willing process with the universe, God, Creator or however we define something sacred and mysterious which gives us life, and brings deeper meaning to our lives. Saying YES to this path, requires a life dedicated to learning. Without a commitment to awakening into the path, we are at risk of losing our opportunity to claim soul sovereignty"

Elizabeth trained and certified as a Peer Mental Health and Addiction Specialist (Community Health Worker), and a Chronic Care Health Coaching Professional. Yet it's her holistic approach to her own practices, and those she offers to others, which more completely informs her work today.

Bringing that lifetime of experience and practice together, she studied and certified in Ecopsychology through Pacifica Graduate Institute. Her understanding and application of ecopsychological principles and practices are core material for her mandala of embodied creative and healing arts approaches.

She draws from many psycho-spiritual influences and tools - which allow a person to access their own healing potential in an interconnected way. She also incorporates a trauma-informed approach. She is a survivor of childhood, domestic, sexual and institutionalized betrayal trauma (as a psychiatric survivor, and because of iatrogenic harm through healthcare systems delivery, and through other systems which historically exploit vulnerable populations). Her ability to "live her strength of vulnerability" supports her ability to midwife post traumatic growth.

Experiencing a Spiritual Emergence / Emergency gave her the context for moving forwards which was prompted by results of psychiatric harm, but not without substantial time navigating a spiritual free fall. Beginning to integrate the convergence of this intersection eventually returned her to shamanic practices and assisted in helping guide her towards developing her own practicing tools, especially through art-making. She continues to explore this process of a way of informing deeper understanding of integration, and to identify conscious ways we can experience a personal unification.

Additional areas of study and practice include alternative modalities. Some of note are:  developing a relationship with trust, narrative medicine, mindfulness and self compassion practices, engaging with nature, shamanic healing, affirmation and gratitude practices, exploring the Shadow side, New Story study, women's circle leadership, and the development of art-making as a healing practice and empowered oracle.

Her undergraduate, a BGS, was completed through The College of Arts and Sciences (COAS), Indiana University, Bloomington, where her status as a Returning Woman Student earned her various accolades and awards. She is a first generation college graduate.

Her professional offerings can be accessed through coaching sessions and an individualized program.

She believes that the spark of Healing, Advocacy and Sacred Activism start from within.
Each spark - as it ignites, invite us to create relationship around how we each define and pursue these passions for ourselves. This approach nurtures an intentional and empowered response-ability.

Equally weighted to becoming more self aware, conscious and accepting is acknowledging how systems of oppression can and must shift to new ways of being in the world. Part of this untangling incorporates a willingness to think and live authentically and with self sovereignty
-- recognizing our cognitive distortions and pivoting into fuller expressions of freedom. This process empowers us to become the change we want to see,
and to emerge as awakened co-creators.

She currently resides in and is a native of Chicago, IL USA.

In 2024, she resumed work on her memoir and continues to generate an inventory of shamanic healing artworks. Stay tuned for updates on retail venues, and workshops.
